DeFi Platform WonderFi to Buy Regulated Crypto Exchange Coinberry

Backed by TV personality Kevin O’Leary, DeFi platform WonderFi Technologies has agreed to buy Canadian cryptocurrency exchange Coinberry. About it says in a press release.

The deal is valued at about $30.3 million. The parties plan to close it in the second quarter of 2022.

WonderFi’s goal is to strengthen its presence in Canada. Earlier project has gained local trading platform Bitbuy – now the team is expanding this brand in Australia and plans to expand to the US by the end of the year.

WonderFi strategic investor Kevin O’Leary called the team’s purchases “extremely important”. In his opinion, this speaks of the foresight of the platform’s plans.

Recall that in August 2021, Coinberry became one of the regulated crypto exchanges, which the Ontario Securities Commission forbidden to work with the USDT stablecoin from Tether.
