Voyager Sets Liquidation Auction Date For September 13th
- Trading around the assets of crypto-broker Voyager will take place next Tuesday
- So far, 22 bidders are known
- Among them are FTX and Binance
- The court will approve the results of the auction on September 29
Earlier, we reported that two large exchanges, FTX and Binance, became interested in the assets of the disgraced broker. Prior to this, it was assumed that the auction, in which the assets of the broker will be sold, will be held at the end of September. But now the company has changed plans.
It became known from the broker’s appeal to the court. The relevant papers were received on 6 September. According to them, the auction will take place on September 13 at 10:00 AM EST at Moelis & Company Bank, New York.
Recall that the parties had to apply for participation before August 26. The deadline was later extended to September 6. The current number of participants is unknown. As of August 4, applications have been received from 22 companies.
The results of the auction will be approved in court. The hearing is scheduled for September 29th. If the winning bidder is formally confirmed during the trial, Voyager’s creditors will receive their payouts in the coming months.
Who else is participating in the auction is still unknown. FTX’s public appeal in July faced criticism from Voyager. The broker declined the buyout offer, noting that its open nature deterred other buyers.
