Compass Mining To Install 25,000 Bitcoin Miners In Texas
Bitcoin mining equipment and service provider Compass Mining has agreed with Compute North to provide 75 MW of power at the blockchain hosting provider’s data center.
Compass plans to deploy 25,000 ASIC miners at a facility in Granbury, Texas. The installation will begin in August and will take several months. Hardware includes the latest generation devices like Antminer S19 XP, Antminer S19j Pro, and Whatsminer M30S++.
The Compute North data center is powered by a 1.1 GW Wolf Hollow combined cycle power plant. The hosting provider has an agreement for 300 MW with the possibility of increasing to 600 MW.
Compute North uses container solutions from Colorado-based RK Mission Critical to host miners. Each block accommodates about 560 devices with an available power of 2 MW.
The provider cooperates with many public mining companies, including Marathon Digital Holdings. Compass Equipment is also in operation at the Compute North facility in Nebraska.
In June, hosting provider Dynamics Mining terminated its miner hosting agreement with Compass, citing non-payment of bills.
