Billion Dollar Stupidity. Bankman-Fried Changed His Mind About Sponsoring Politicians
- Recently, the head of FTX promised to sponsor the Democrats
- Now he went back on his word and called it a “stupid quote.”
- Bankman-Fried gave everything to the people’s will and the primaries’ power.
The head of the FTX crypto exchange has withdrawn his word to donate $1 billion to political campaigns. Earlier, he made such a promise to Politico journalists.
“That was a stupid quote. I think sometimes my statements were rash and inconsistent, ” says in his new interview with Morning Money.
This is terrible news for the leaders of the Democratic Party, whom Sam Benkman-Fried sympathizes with. Things have not been going well for them lately – due to economic problems; fewer voters want to keep the Democrats in ruling posts.
However, this year the crypto billionaire has already spent almost $40 million on political campaigns. And in 2020, he was among the most significant contributors to Joe Biden’s re-election campaign.
“There comes a moment when you get your message across to the voters. It’s useless to do anything else. You can continue to waste time, money, talk more, but you will not do anything else.
Sam Benkman-Fried believes that now everything will be decided by the final primaries.
