Meta will open a store to showcase the metaverse
Meta Corporation will open the first Meta Store retail store to introduce consumers to virtual reality and the metaverse.
The store will showcase the company’s VR headsets, Ray-Ban Stories glasses, and Portal devices. Visitors will have access to interactive demonstrations played on a massive wall-to-wall LED display.
The company believes that physical retail stores will help not only sell more equipment but also introduce consumers to virtual and augmented reality technologies.
“Having a store here in Burlingame gives us more room to experiment and keep the customer experience at the core of our development. What we learn here will help guide our future retail strategy,” said Meta Store CEO Martin Gilliard.
The store is located near San Francisco, California, next to the headquarters of the Reality Labs division. The opening will take place on May 9, 2022.
