Coinbase Launches Beta NFT Marketplace

Cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase has launched a beta version of its own non-fungible token (NFT) platform for a limited number of users.

At the first stage, Ethereum-based tokens are available. Coinbase Vice President of Product Sanchan Saxena The Block about the plans of the NFT marketplace to add support for other blockchains.

According to him, users will be able to use any wallets, including Coinbase Wallet and MetaMask. For a limited time, the platform will not charge transaction fees.

Users will have to go through KYC- verification for using the marketplace. At the time of writing, only Ethereum is available as payment, later the company will add ways to make fiat deposits. Among the latter buying NFT with Mastercard bank cards.

For the first time about plans to launch the Coinbase non-fungible token platform informed in October 2021. Since then, more than 1.5 million users have signed up for the waiting list.

As a reminder, in April 2022, Coinbase announced the release of a series about NFT from the collection of Bored Ape Yacht Club. The first episode is scheduled to air in June.
